How is AI really changing the way we work?

If you’ve been wondering how AI is actually being used in workplaces across Australia and New Zealand - not just talked about - our latest research with over 850 business leaders and technology professionals might help connect the dots.
The report, commissioned by our parent company Talent, offers a data-backed look at where organisations are in their AI journeys right now - from early experimentation to capability building - and what that means for workforce strategy in the years ahead.
Rather than focusing on hype or headlines, the survey explores six key themes:
🔍 Perception
⚙️ Current Use & Adoption
🧭 Strategy & Leadership
🧠 Skills & Enablement
🚧 Barriers & Challenges
🤖 Agentic AI
Here are a few findings that stood out to us at Solve:
- Just 12% of organisations are planning to hire an AI leader in the next 12–18 months
- For 55% of organisations, AI still hasn’t impacted workforce planning
- Only 5% of respondents believe their organisation is responding to AI extremely well
- 90% of business leaders are optimistic about AI’s impact - but only 63% of workers share that sentiment
- 25% of workers are concerned about job displacement due to agentic AI
- Security and compliance remain the top barrier to broader adoption
- And while 52% of organisations are offering AI training, the depth and reach of this enablement is still limited
At Solve by Talent, we help businesses move from isolated AI experiments to integrated workforce transformation - with the right leadership, skills frameworks and change management to support it.
